About the Blacktail...
The Blacktail Ranch is an 8,000-acre
family-owned ranch located where the mountains meet the prairie near
Wolf Creek, Montana. The south fork of the Dearborn River flows
through meadows and aspen groves, the hillsides are wide and open,
and the thick timbered mountains shadow beautiful trails. Wildlife
is abundant and varied. The ranch is rich in Native American history
with a medicine wheel, a sun wheel, numerous tipi rings and burial
sites. In addition, the ranch is the site of the Blacktail Caves.
Artifacts and bones found deep in the caverns indicate the former
presence of Ice Age man and animals.
Our group space is a beautiful hogan built on
the ridge above the main lodge. The ranch staff is sensitive to our
process and they prepare excellent, nutritious meals. Participants
with special dietary needs are given every consideration. Various
forms of massage and bodywork are available.
Private or shared rooms are available in the
main lodge. Those who want a more intimate experience of the land
can set up a personal tent in the meadow close to the lodge or use
one of the tipis.
Arrival and departure to the Blacktail Ranch
is through Great Falls, Montana if traveling by air. Shuttle is
available through the Blacktail for an additional cost of $65.00 per
person.
