The
Arctic Adventure will be a very special opportunity for eight
people to travel by dog team under the expert guidance of
Yukon Quest Champion musher Aliy Zirkle and her husband,
Iditarod musher Allen Moore. They will guide
us above the Arctic Circle to the Arctic National
Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), home of the 130,000-strong Porcupine
Caribou Herd. We will have five days and five nights in
ANWR, just as Spring is coming to the land. We will be
able to travel out from our base camp by dog team in
search of caribou, wolf, wolverine, ptarmigan, and many other
species of wild life. All necessary cold-weather gear
needed for the journey will be provided. The Arctic
night will offer us an enthralling display of Northern
Lights. The friendships and close bonds that come from
being in such a small group, within this unique and
far-distant place are what we will create on our
own.
